when ever i leave the car sitting for an hour or more or over night. it takes a while to fire up. i have to feather the throttle and keep trying until it finally catches and fires.
what causes this and has anyone had this problem b4?
is this a common problem
also the only internal upgrades i have are BC springs and retainers and BC 264/264 cams. this started after the cam install

temp sensor, ecu, timing are all things ive seen that cause hard starts during the cold on sr's including mine

ya, temp sensor is usually the culprit tho

I just had this problem too. Wasted $30 on a CTS, but a $4 can of MAF cleaner is what did it for me.
Start there and let us know if it helps. Clean the AAC while you're at it.

so i replaced the CTS. started fine then later in the day it messed up again. i remember last time i changed my plugs cylinder 3 plug was fouled(dry) so i replaced them and the car ran smooth and no backfires... i just pulled the plugs this morning(ive had these plugs in for 2 days now) and the hard start and back fires came back. pulled the plugs 10 mins ago and cylinder 3 is foulded dry again.
could this be because of a bad coil pack?

Yepper cams will do this to ya. I have similar issues.

in addition, during normal driving it breakes up and hesitates. then under boost it kinda clears and boost pretty smooth(not as hard as normal) then back fires more.

anyone? what would explain one cylinder running rich? would lack or weak spark cause it?

could. bad/corroded grounds won't help either.
has your car been tuned? , i'd double check your mechanical timing and make sure the cams are properly installed. then hit it with a timing light one more time.
make sure your idle air control valve air regulator valve is also getting power. it's by cylinder 3 intake runner. goes to one of the big grey plugs there. it's black with a yellow stripe. it should have key On 12 volt power.
hope that helps. also does your car warm up and stay at operating temperature? if you run your car without a thermostat or have a thermostat that's staying open you'll notice your temp guage drops down the more you drive it. that can also foul your plugs and create a hard cold start.

yeah my car has been tuned. i checked timing after the install cause of the difficulty of starting. TDC everything was lined up. my car runs at a consistant temp right below the 3rd notch. i did notice though after pulling my valve cover my coil pack harness ground was kind of dirty with gunk and oil. ill pull that and clean teh surface and re ground and see where that takes me.

I just went thorugh this with my car and fixed it
the order i went in
Check MAF
Check TPS
Check FPR
Check CAS
Check Timing
Check Spark / Plugs
Check Fuel Pressure
Check IACV
Check injectors / seals
just because the injector seals look good dont mean there not bad. My issue was injector seals once i replaced them with OEM seals my issue was gone
