Well long story short. My buddy replaced his alternator on his s14 notch top.

Now his tach and his speedo do not work. We were going to trade his swap for my bike. I want to fix the issue before i give him the bike.

The problem is that when u drive the car and you hit a bump his tach and speedo stop working. Also if you pull the e-brake his tach and speedo stop working. He says all this happen after he replaced the alternator on it.

does any one have the wiring diagram for the tach and speedo or what do you guys think the problem is. Bad ground? wrong alternator?
Thanks r_g

Not related to your alternator...something is loose wiring wise for sure. Is he popping fuse too? Something to do with the power supply wiring into the cluster is what I'm thinking. My old S14 had an issue where the power supply wire between the fuse box into the back of the cluster is grounding out, causing my shit to blow the fuse. That wire pretty much powers the whole cluster so if you have a break on there, it kills the speedo and tach.

Check the chassis FSM...there should be a wiring diagram for whatever chassis it is for. I had this issue on an S14 and from what I've seen, I wasnt the only one who had this issue with a 14.
