wideband hook up location

Ok so im gonna install my wideband but my question is how far away from the turbo should it be. My down pipe has a bung for a wideband or o2 i guess but the wideband directions say make sure its between 10-15 inches away from the exhaust manifold. do you think it would read accurate if its in the down pipe towards the end or should i have a new bung welded on at the start of the down pipe. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

the recommendation is 12-36in on a turbo car. So it would be ideal to put it inbetween that. About 24in or so. Pretty much the back / end of the down pipe, before the test pipe or cat.
