1) S15 GT28R setup:

S15 stock GT28R T2 Turbo (The Nismo Shop : West Covina Nissan : Nissan JDM T28R Turbocharger :: S15 Silvia (http://www.thenismoshop.com/ikorb.php?func=catalog&category_id=1195&product_id=341))

HKS SSQV BOV
Ebay FMIC
Ebay 3" exhaust system

2) Garrett T3/T4E setup:

Garrett T3/T4E, 50Trim Compressor, StageII Turbine (T3 5 bolt .48 A/R) (T3/T4E, 50Trim Compressor, StageII Turbine (http://www.aptuning.net/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=TBN-TBO-056&CartID=1))

Ebay 3" exhaust system
Nistune

I want to have a 250-300 WHP S13 KA24DET drift car. Since I will not rebuild the engine, I think I will run 10psi boost.

Pros for GT28R setup:
No need to get custom hot pipe; can use T25/T28 components.
Less lag; higher torque in low RPM
Ball bearing - spool faster, last longer (how fast and how long?)

Cons for GT28R setup:
Less HP in high RPM (choking for KA24DE?)
Ball bearing - need water coolant lines

Pros for T3/T4E setup:
Capable for high HP output (400+HP?)
non-Ball bearing - no need for water coolant line

Cons for T3/T4E setup:
Need to get custom hot pipe
Need to wield the dump pipe to downpipe if noise is the concern
Need to get external wastegate

Do you prefer the GT28R setup or T3/T4E setup? Feel free to discuss the pros and cons.

Thanks!

Dont do the t3to4e. We made great power with one on a s14 ka on race fuel but with your power expectations and having it be a drift car the larger turbo is not what you want, especially if your only wanting to run it at 10lbs. We ran ours at 23psi and here is the dyno graph.

its just a little too laggy for drift imo. This wasnt a drift car, but I had driven the car and I do drift my car so thats what Im going off of there.
Also, those injectors wouldnt be too small for 10psi on that turbo, but way too small for that turbos potential.

I would recommend scratching the ssac mani and get an isis one, also check into the s15 replica turbo that enjuku offers under their isis brand.

Im soon going to be tuning 2 setups for drift cars sponsored by enjuku using isis turbo parts/their s15 turbo replica on nistune. I can post their results when they get the rest of the deal worked out with enjuku and get their cars to me.

Let's say I want 280whp. How much psi do I need to run to achieve that if I used the T2 setup and how much psi for T3 setup?

Thanks!

14-15psi

i've seen some people claim 115 trap speed @ 12psi on a s15 t28 ka-t but i think they were running way more boost.

just take a look at ka-t . org. there is enough info on ppls dynos with t3/t4 and t28's. if u want a nice t3/t4 id say get the t3/t04 50trim .63 a/r stage 3 wheel. also t3 turbos are cheaper to find
