The thing next to the ignition coil. A plug goes into it but nothing comes out.

Wait you have an SR? In that picture thats a KA...and you need that with the KA

Also in that picture looks like your missing a MAF and filter...just tryin' to help haha

I found that on Fresh Alloys because I didn't wanna take a pic of it.

I found it hanging in my engine bay. Wasn't sure if I needed it.

If I am looking at the second pic correctly it's a coil for ignition to provide power out to a distributor. Your SR has individual coilpacks for each cylinder so no, you don't need it anymore. Sell it someone who needs a replacement coil for their KA

I am talking about the little thing next to the coil in both pics, not the coil that goes to the distributor.

So you mean the dropping resistor.

We do have a search function on here, works wonder if you bother using it.

On 240s, you can quickly tell if the car was originally automatic by looking at that plug. It's the dropping resistor for the auto transmission.

On the twin cam S13, it's plug E43, Pink and Orange/Blue. You can remove this wire and trace all the way back to the A/T Control Unit plug and the lower harness.
