What does the STARTER plug do? I found the plug hanging from my lower harness and the flat prong on the STARTER is naked with nothing on it. I am going to solder the plug from my KA to it so I can utilize the plug but I have no car to jump mine until 7pm so I'm in no rush to do a 30 minute project.

So what does this plug do because my car cranks and starts but dies 5 seconds after starting, so could this be the problem?

All help appreciated.

Sorry about the title I meant starter.

ummm that kinda weird, so your saying before you found the stater solendoid wire hanging you car would crank??

That wire is what engages your stater to crank. With out it your stater will not make the engine turn over.

No that wire will not cause your engine to die after starting.

What engine is this? SR?

The KA and SR starter has a power lug that is bolted on and a single prong starter solenoid connector.

Without both the car will not crank at all.

If your car cranks then you have power and starter solenoid hooked up.

The other one prong connectors in that area would be the oil pressure switch (big round connector), knock/detonation sensor (round sensor mounted on the engine), thermal transmitter (towards the front of the block).

I don't know of any other 1 prong connector on the KA/SR in the general area.

I found that my friend that helped with my swap tapped the wire into the prong after I got under the car and checked it out.
