might have a bad head gasket and its being burned when it leaks into the cylinders? not too sure but maybe ? free bump

i doubt it cause there is no smoke coming from the back of the car.

Hello, one way to check the thermostat is to start the car and let it get hot once hot shut off the car then check the top radiator hose and the bottom radiator hose (watch out they can burn you ) if the 2 hose feel the same (HOT) then the thermostat is working ,but if one is alot hotter than the other the thermostat is bad.

The water pump when it goes bad either it leak's around the pump itself or sometime it doesn't leak but make's a grinding sound. So check for leak's around the pump area and listen for the grinding sound.

Check all your water hose's.....

Check the inside front floor board for leak's from the heater core. Do you have good heat in the car now? Because you could be losing the water thur the core or the core hose.......

Do the test and get back with me to let me know , I hope this can help you later...........B.Daddy

ok. so i just fixed my thermostat and it ran fine until i drove it then it started to heat up. i kept driving and the temp went down and stayed there. idk why it did that but the problem is fixed for now, any ideas why it would do that?

bleed the system,
-lift the front of the car VERY HIGH.. so the rad cap. is the highest point of the motor, all the air will rush out. you should just see a rush of bubbles, maybe some steam then it should stop once all the air is out.
During your bleed, if bubbles DO NOT STOP, and exhaust smoke is coming from the bubbles you have compression leaking into your coolant.

^^^^^what he said. Also when bleeding, turn your heat on with the air coming out of the floor if i remember correctly. It took me about 45 minutes of constant idle for my car to bleed all the way out. Even after the first bleed, keep an eye on your temp gauge. It may take several bleeds. Ka's have a lot of air spaces.
