whats the difference btween the stock ign chip and the q45?

Stock ignitor for which car(z32, sr20,?)?what is it exactly that you're wanting to do with the ignitor? If you're wanting to wire in the q45 ignitor for the sr20 then here is a link to a thread I found with a quick search..... w w w. ziptied . com/forums/index.php?topic=12593.0 (w/out the spaces)

What he said, plugs are different on the older models, newer models ('96+) plug right in.

How does an ignitor chip produce voltage? What does the coil do?
