could be lots of things honestly. have you floored the gas pedal and it sputters or cuts off while reaching wide open throttle??when the last time it had a tune up? check fuel pump ,don't just replace something before u make sure it works or doesn't work. ran out of gas recently?

fuel injectors. does it feel like you have a loss of power? if so, check the o-rings. you can also listen to the injectors themselves while the car is running and listen for a repetition of ticks.

yea it cuts off when i floor it. but it smells like its just dumping fuel n not burning up.. as if its not getting enough spark but i changed all the ignition parts.. i read that it could be my ecu codes? maybe??

I am having a similar problem. I replaced Distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, and cables. I turn the key, it tries to start but doesn't. The starter is good, and the battery is new. I've been reading and it sounds like it may be the fuel pump. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to change it out?

Vaccuum leak anyone? Always check the obvious stuff first. Check your vaccuum lines/battery ground before you replace anything.

How do I check? And do you know where I can get instructions or directions on doing it myself? I A few weeks ago, the engine starting shaking pretty bad, after putting a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner it fixed things. Then I completely forgot about it and never addressed it.

One thing We all over looks is Timing, MAF,and if that is good it's a Posibility it's your KNOCK SENSOR. :ugh:

I have been having the same exact problem for a few weeks now, I changed the fuel filter, spark plugs (they were fouled) and the distributor rotor (it was totally fried), it still sputters a little, it is getting progressivly worse, it has no vaccuum leaks, a new battery, new plug wires too...... I did a compression test and it passed with flying colors... any answer to this would be fantastic.. I am leaning towards fuel pump.. any way to test that to know for sure?

I am going to replace my fuel filter tomorrow. I hope that fixes it. Does anybody know where I can find a video on how to replace the fuel filter, fuel pump, and injectors on a kA?
