I had originally thought i blew a head gasket, but after removing the head realized that the ring land on cylinder 2 had broken. It scared the wall very little but enough to need a over bore.
So onto the title question,
1 What will i need to do as far as bearings and such? I plan on running a set of cp pistons and bc rods. Do i just get stock sized race bearing or just stock bearings all together or is there somthing i need to measure?
2 Also what do i do as far as rings go?
3 would it be wise to go to a little lower compresion or stay stock(i am running a 2871r .64 turbo)
4 how much more boost can i run on a bottom end like this and is 550cc injector going to limit me?
THANKS in advance

1- Just get the ACL non race bearings Yes stock size.
2- CP should send you new rings with the pistons.
3- Stay with the stock compression.
4- I run 26psi on my freshly stock rebuilt bottom end but thats max lol If but I would say since you are building yours just do like 24 psi to be safe.

I agree mostly. Def don't go lower compression, stay stock or if anything bump up to 9:1. For boost, you should be able to max out that turbo on a built bottom end.

so you guys are saying just buy a set of bearings with stock thickness and everything should clearance fine?
and also on the rings-dont i have to use a feeler gauge and grind them till they fit?

Why would you grind the rings?
Take your block to the machine shop, they will tell you how much they need to bore.
You can then decide on what size pistons to order, Then take new pistons and block to machine shop so they can bore and hone the cylinders to the cloest tolerance. Also why you got everthing out go ahead and balance the crank with everything
and order some Pulsar GTIR Main crank studs they are 10% stronger over stock (I'll post the part number when i find it)
and for the injectors get 740cc

haha Duh.... he made it sound like they were gonna be too big and you had to file them till they would fit
But OP its not a matter of making them fit, there is a certain gap you need to file it down to.
The Machine shop can do this for you if you go the route i mentioned if you dont think you can do it

Post that part number if you can mane, that would be helpful as I am rebuilding my s14 sr as well ( sorry to thread jack:hs:)

thanks for all the input and i have the block at the machine shop but without a torque plate.
i got the machineist to do the rings but im doing the rest myself.
does anyone have a torque spec guide for everything?

1) this answer i would more advise you to take it to someone that has built performance SR20DET engines. Unless you just want to know, just to know.
2) They come with the pistons you purchase.
3) With that turbo and assuming you have a stock ecu and running pump gas. going up and or down depending u wanna run more boost.
4) need your setup.
My name is Frank if you have any other questions or need someone to point to you the right direction. Email me and let me know I talked to you on Zilvia.
