ok bought this engine in working condition, so i changed the head gasket. i install the cams and if i go by the sproket's or indintations on the cams i get intake lobe pointed to left like it should, and the exhaust 1 lobe pointing straight up, i rotate motor by hand and it hits the valves, i swithed the cams thinking they might be installed incorrect but nope same thing.so i swithced them back to its original state so i know both lobes most be pointing opposite direction so i installed the cam to do so. but i can only line up 2 out of 3 marks the intake side and the bottom sproket ( see pic below) but not the exhaust cam! i spin it by hand and no problems motor spins freely but unsure if timming is dead on. sorry for the long post

intake cam markings say 4 53f
exhaust cam marking just say 2

i used... and factory manual

its my understanding to indentify if i have a intake cam the sproket shall line up witht he 1st lobe how cam shall be according to jim wolf

This is simple.

Pic #2 shows YOU HAVE 2 INTAKE CAMS! this requires a different setup, adjustable gear and a degree wheel.

Just replace the exhaust cam (your intake cam in the exhaust bank) with a true exhaust cam. I have several available if needed.
