I replaced one fuel injector last saturday, the has been running great. Then yesterday, as I'm cruising down the road (not racing or revving), i start to smell gas and the engine starts to sputter, then finally quits.
Last time my injector went bad the engine just ran very rough, this time I can even get it to start up. Did another injector fail wide open? I have not gotten a chance to check the codes yet, but has anyone had a similar problem? Thanks for any and all help.

No one? How about this, if I rent a computer scanner will it give me any specific information on the CEL, or will it just give me a generic fault code? Any help is appreciated.

sounds like ignition problem. did you check for spark yet? and the scanner will only work if you through a check engine light. also whats the year of the car?

I found the problem. I pulled out the recently replaced fuel injector, I found the o-ring and the other pieces chilling in the fuel rail. Luckily I was able to recover the pieces easily. I got a new injector and it runs now. I'm going to change the oil before I run it though, the crankcase smells of gas pretty strongly.
Thanks for your reply, I appreciate your help. Hope this info helps anybody else with similar problems. I guess the broken injector was flooding the engine pretty badly.
