Nistune VS Enthalpy

I know Nistune is kind of like a standalone tuning unit while Enthalpy is a pre-tune ECU rom service.

I am planning to tune it with Nistune myself, and wondering if I would be ok if I spend about 6 months on reading/researching ECU tuning. I am reading 2 tuning books:

After reading http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/files/nissan_ecu_tuning_basics.pdf. it kinds of make sense.

I just want to learn how to tune my car, and looking for a good typical tune.

Another question for Enthalpy is how good they are. I want to see more details on mapping and timing table. Since they just need to know the injector Size, air Flow Sensor, etc., it seems like they are just some generic tunes. Did they just modify the injection mulitplier (K constant)? Or do they tune more than that? I read many Enthalpy threads, and most people are happy about their tunes, but I want to know more about Enthalpy tunes.

I've read both of those books. Both are excellent to get into. I don't feel that either one of those books were to in depth with header chip sets. Only brief descriptions of how it works.
I like Jeff Hartmans book a bit more as he actually breaks down alot of the mathmatical equations such as theoretical pulse width, and gets in a bit about emulation and daughter board sets.
I think once you finish those books you will have a somewhat understanding that will bring you up to par on ecu tuning.

Just remember with the nistune that you can't use partial .bin files. I think nistune explains pretty well why you can't.

Also remember that the resolution between the enthalapy tunes and nistune are no different from each other so in comparison it is only wise to go nistune, to know that you can tune in real time and make adjustments on a dyno. Much better than going entha;lapy route and possibly usingf an SAFC for slight pulse width correction.

I think Jeff hartman explains resolution quite well.

Iv heard good things about both company's so im pretty sure you will be happy with ether one and your car will run good. But i think everyone should just get a standalone

I know standalone is the best, but it is not a budget solution with a $1300 price tag.

And with standalone, I don't think I would be able to tune it myself. Tons of knowledge and patience are needed. While nistune seems to be more new-tuner-friendly, I might be able to tune it myself.

I just found out that new-formed RS Enthalpy company will sell their tunes for $400. It's very attractive now.

U can get a power fc without the commander for like 500$ and thats a full standalone with the commander I payed 950$ shipped or I would highly recommend get the actual software FC Datalogit - Tuning Software for your APEXi Power FC (http://www.fc-datalogit.co.nz) Its not that hard the power fc comes with a good basemap once the basemap is loaded you just have to fine tune the timing and a/f not to hard most ppl dont even mess with the timing on the basemap. So thats what I have to say so GL with your computer
