i realized my engine was overheating after driving for a couple hours. i pulled over and noticed something was creating a white smoke or steam from the engine.
the smoke/steam is coming from the intake manifold or right below it. and their is a hissing noise coming from under the intake manifold
HELP ME OUT!!!!
oh yeah
their is a slight knocking noise coming from the engine when im going up a hill or keeping the rpms leveled

Asking here won't fix your problem. Just bust out your tools and start removing your manifold. You'll find the problem. This happens to everyone. Meanwhile, since apparently your hoses are becoming brittle, you should take advantage and do some other simple maintenance, like cleaning out the gunk/oil out of your intake manifold, if any.

You got waterlines under there, one of thems fucked. Good rule of thumb is that if ones goes bad under there, replace them all. Last thing you need is doing this shit again in a couple of months.

yea if your going through all the hell fo removing the mani while its in the car, replace everything you can, hoses, vacuum lines, gaskets, clean it all really well to.. and you can leave off the bastard lower manifold bracket if your leaveing the motor in the car to do all this.

When my old hose on my KA24E started doing that, I changed it while the manifold was ON the car. It took me 3-4 hours though. That stupid hose thats shaped like a U, a simple very small U. Change all the hoses, you will feel so much better.
