ignore that KA sign...
I just changed out the head gasket to a 3 layer metal gasket. I pluged everything back in and i checked it a thousand times. its getting fuel and air the battery is good and the plugs have spark. but it just wont turn on. I already adjusted the timing.

the only thing that i can think of that it might be is that my timing is off a whole 180 degrees off instead of right on it.
Can anyone please help me out im stressing bad...

the only thing i did was change the head gasket out cuz i instaled the old one real wrong. lol... but now i did correctly im sure of it.
what do you mean by the dizzy?? im not following you. everything is good i get fuel i get everything exept for the car to start. i turn the key and all it does is that sound that it wants to start but it just wont..

see if it will run on starting fluid... if it gurgles and backfires then it's 180 out. if it runs on starting fluid then it's spot on and you've got a fuel injector/signal/pressure issue.

lets say that i do have a signal or preasure problem how would that be caused if i only changed out the head gasket.. im just trying to understand this problem more just for feature refrence..

ok well from what i know about reseting dizzys on corollas, if u take it out there should be a bump/dot in it and u just line up the dots, but make sure ur engine is TDC after u line it up, then try to start it up

It is possible that his SR doesn't have a distributor. Mine is coil packed, no dizzy. I've seen one RWD SR with a dizzy, but most are coil packed.

hmmm.. try reinstalling your CAS to according to the FSM. my swap had trouble starting for weeks and had the same exact symptoms you did (i was new to the scene and did the swap on my own) until i decided to reset the CAS and she fired right up after not even taking 3 minutes to reset it.

Did you make sure and set the cam timing correctly too? Obviously if you had the head off you had the chain off so did you make sure that at TDC the cams where in the correct position? My bet is either cam timing is off or you installed the CAS at BDC instead of TDC. Make sure when you install the CAS the cam lobes on cylinder one are pointing out. Also count the links between the dots on the cam gears and make sure the chain has twenty links between the dots. If you need help setting your cam timing let me know and I can tell you how to check it all out.
