Hey Guys, Hope someone can help me with this issue I'm having.
My SR's idle has been a little odd, it always seems to be around 1.5k RPM, when I adjust the idle a little lower, let's say about 800 RPM, it runs fine, until I give it gas, it will normally shut off or idle very roughly. So since the car needed a little tune up anyways I went ahead and changed the oil, oil filter, and spark plugs. Started the car up, ran excellent, but still had that idle issue. I began reading on forums and read that it could be an issue with the Idle Control Valve by the intake manifold. I went ahead and did what was told, sprayed carb cleaner in the idle screws hole. After that, the car refused to turn on, and if it did , only temporary. So, I took the next step and removed the ICV and properly took it apart and cleaned it well, it actually didn't have much carbon build up and looked fairly clean already. I tried adding some 12V power to it see if the valve would open or close, or here a little click or something, but it failed. I was assuming the ICV was locked, broken, or something. I put my assumtions aside and re-installed everything again, tried to start the car, and again nothing at all, it cranks, thier's fuel and spark. Only think I can think of is replacing the ICV. Can anyone assist me before spending $200 on an ICV.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
