I just tested my coil packs. I have a rb25det series 2. I checked the packs by placing the positive probe on the first prong and the neg on the second prong (as if you are looking at the coil pack upright and the prongs being numbered 1,2,3). I got 1.6 k ohms in 5 of them and 1.7 in 1. I believe I read that they are supposed to be 0.7 ohms. When I try to test them in ohms, it says overload, but when I test them in k ohms I get the above numbers.

i am wondering the same thing. does anybody know the range that the series 2 coils are supposed to test out at?
i had a set of series 1 coils and those tested out around what the FSM says.
there isnt any info on the s2 coils though....

geez i have the same effing prob. except one of mine says 1.5 instead of 1.7 and i have no spark at all. plenty of fuel but no spark. i also looked in the fsm and no luck, it just show the s1 version. i pulled my ecu and noticed one of the diodes was burnt so maybe thats my prob idk. i just got 2 ecu's yesterday but hadnt had a chance test them out. ill b testing them this weekend so if i get good or bad news ill be sure to post it here. if you guys find out something let me know pls.

i have 2 sets of s2 coil packs and they all range from 1.4k to 1.6k ohms. would it be better to have a lower or higher resistance?
