Is there a writeup on how to change the oil pump on a redtop SR? Or anytype of manual in PDF format of the SR?

Thanks!

Remove belts. Remove lower crank pulley. Drain oil. Remove lower oil pan. Remove upper oil pan. Remove valve cover. Undo bolts holding oil pump to head in front. Remove bolts holding pickup tube to girdle. Remove pickup tube. Remove bolts holding oil pump to block. Pry old pump off. While making sure not to dick the headgasket part that's under the head. Slide new pump onto dowels carefully. Reinstall in reverse above.

Not really doable in car. It's possible but there's so much pain you can almost pull it, get it done on a stand, and put it back in faster than undoing motormounts and droping the pan in car.

damn.. that's all complicated.. What did I get myself into? lol.. Guess I'm spoiled wth my V8 4x4's. just drop the pan pull the pump then put it back.

Is there any online manual in pdf for the SR?

Like stated above, it is a pain in the ass to do if the engine is still in the car. The bolt from the head to the front cover on the exhaust side is a bitch. Getting the new front cover back on without annihilating the head gasket is a bitch.

With the engine out, its a breeze. Go on Zeroyon for the S15 FSM.

I might pull the motor and put it on my stand.. That way I can turn it over and look in it Inspect the motor really well.
