S14 SE Non-ABS front hub and bearing issues

All 4 wheel bearings on my car were just about shot. I happen to be an employee of advance auto parts so I looked them up and came to one single listing for a Beck/Arnley unit. I purchased 2 with my lovely employee discount (20%) and proceeded home to remove the hubs. Took both hubs and bearings to a local machine shop to have them pressed in and learned the wonderful news, not only could they not press out the old bearings, but the new ones were far too big for the hubs. :bash: So I start researching only to find that the hubs are two very different units. What makes this all so wonderful is that there was absolutely no mention of any differences in designs on APAL.:madfawk: (advance's parts lookup program) I'm going to contact corporate Monday and explain the error, as well as inform Beck/Arnley of the mistaken listing. So now I'm guessing the Non-ABS hubs are a one-piece design which leads me to a question, where do you get these things for a decent price? I've seen shitloads of S13 5-lug conversion hubs but when you hit S14, it becomes a gray area (at least in my opinion it does.)

On a side note, Autozone's price on my back bearings was less than advance's after my 20% off. Just some info for us guys too poor to run racing grade bearings.

Welcome to Earth. It's been common knowledge since 1995 that the S14 front wheel bearings are NOT replaceable. They're a one piece design with the hub. The entire unit is replaced as a whole if the bearing is bad. This is true for both ABS and non ABS models.

The dealer. That or any of these eghey specials. It's called a hub.

Ichiba also makes the hubs, you can get them also on ebay, or frsport.com carries the oem as well as Ichiba hubs.

I'm not trying to say anything. I am saying it. Go to Nissan. Try to buy a front wheel bearing for an S14. See what they tell you, and what they give you instead. If you've found a replacement part, have you bought one and put it in? Does it work? No. The front wheel bearing in the S14 hub is NOT replaceable. The Nissan service manual even says so. And yes, I've tried to replace one long ago anyway for the hell of it, the bearing came apart and the hub was damaged during removal, not allowing a new bearing to go back in (if I even had one, which I didn't since they're not made).

FYI, the bearing portion is the exact same for both ABS and non ABS anyway. The only difference is the ABS hub has the ABS ring on it. You can use either hub on a non ABS car fine, the bearing doesn't matter.

Ok, I admit my mistakes on this, but now I have a brand new problem. I'm in the middle of removing the spindle. The problem is, I can't get it to come off the lower ball joint. Please dear god tell me it's not pressed on there too. I know the ball joint is pressed into the control arm, but is the steering knuckle pressed on too.

You can also beat it out with a hammer if you're replacing it.
