i bought the car with a blown head gasket. i didn't ask how it blew but im guessing overheating. i replaced the head gasket and it didn't over heat, but it just runs hotter than it should. so i changed the water pump and the thermostat.
still ran too hot so i decided just to do a fresh rebuild and pulled the motor. took it to the machine shop and they had to do some welding on the head. put it all back together with new bearings, rings, and seals. fired up the first crank and it ran fine then it started to run too hot again. so i changed both coolant temp sensors on the intake manifold, changed the hoses, checked the timing, new o2 sensor, and even put a mishimoto aluminum radiator in. STILL RUNS TOO HOT and at the same temps.
im getting my temp readings from a yoshido factory water temp gauge. i tested the gauge on 2 of my friends cars which are bone stock like my car and they both run around 150ish while mine runs around 185-195F.
i also noticed that when i leave my house with my car cold, my factory temp gauge gets to the middle line less than a mile away from my house.
any ideas what to do next? wiring problem? sensors i missed that i should replace?
