Hi Im new to the site, i just got a redtop sr20det for my 91 240 an got it all in and hooked up. I got a fmic right away for it but it doesnt quite line up very good so thers a leak by the throttle body right now but I tried to start it to see if it ran anyway. It started right up but only idles for a second and dropped to about 300 rpm and hunts a little but just dies after about 5 seconds. I hit the gas and nothing happens. I got a walboro 255 fuel pump and a new fuel filter but it ran great with my KA.
Also when i turn the key off the ecu still has power and the dash lights stay on until i ground out the ecu main power wire, and only if i ground it out after i turn the key off otherwise the EGI relay just buzzes.

I dont know if it would be the MAF, TPS, or IACV?? I kept the KA MAF plug and soldered it to the SR MAF does that have something to do with it? I dont want to just start buying tons of sensors and get nowhere with it. I also have an EGR. at least i think thats what it is, a metal pipe going from the downpipe and its blocked off but the company i bought it from said it shouldnt have an EGR.

I need my car to run soon so if you have any ideas please help!!

Ok I was playing with it a little and swapped the SR MAF plug into the MAF and it stays running but idles at about 2k. Then if i give it a little gas it crawls up to about 3500 and doesnt want to come back down. Is it a vacuum leak?? or maybe the TPS??

Also the stupid EGR is sitting on my steering shaft so my wheel wont turn. I think Ill just cut it off and plug the hole or something anyone know if this is a bad idea or not?

You must first have everything installed and hooked up right before diagnosing any errors or faults. fix the leak at the tb then re-check the wiring making sure that all sensors are connected to the right wires/ecu pins.

btw the first maf may be defective. the ecu may need to go through a complete start up and warm cycle before things normalize... After Everything Is Fixed
