hey zilvia quick question dor all...i have a valve cover in good condition but when i had my friend clean it up for a polished alum look he sandblasted it and left the inside exposed to sand..thusfor leaving small sand particals all up in my system and what i beleive to be the reason for my spun bearings:madfawk:...so after all the work i put into it i dont want to make a foolish mistakeby putting it back on...i cleaned all the particles off inside surface but under oil plate looks like wire mesh and other goods for the sand to get caught in....
So after all of this my question is...can i take off the plate on inside of cover and clean,,then gasket maker that bitch back in there???or should i pressure wash the shit out of it and hope it gets it all:x:or go expensive way,but safe and get new cover????
Thoughts??????

Valve covers are not expensive, but pressure washing should take care of it. To be honest, I'd spray it out a hose and then with 100psi air from my compressor and leave it at that - it's not subjected to much pressure/vacuum, so anything that's still in it will most likely stay in it.

Parts washer to degrease the fuck out of the valve cover and maybe wash all the sand in your vagina...err i meant valvecover.
I had the same issue with my intercooling piping that extremely fine sand was not affected by the air compressor, so I had to move to solvent and elbow grease.

I sandblasted an S13 one before, I just hit it with an air gun for about 20 minutes making sure i got every bit of the material out of the mesh. After that it should be fine.
OOORR..
if you wanna be super anal about it, you could have it ultra sonic cleaned.
