Dies at idle

I have a stock 95 240sx that runs rough and dies at idle after it has warmed up! seems to run ok at higher rpm but when you come to a stop the car (http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/261387-stock-95-240-dies-idle.html#) usually dies, also has a smell when you park it like a stuck choke on an older car would have!!!
Check engine light was on for a while but it went off by itself!!!!!!!!!!!!

idk what the problem could be, mine does the same thing sometimes. but if you wanna drive it still you can just turn up the idle to about 1500 rpms, that should keep it high enough to keep it from dying, its gonna use a little more gas though
