So, I got a leak in my front oil seal it looks like. I figured it's because my crank pulley seems to be wobbleling a lil bit. Do you guys think that might be a cause????? I just rebuilt the engine from the ground up ,so it's a new seal. I'm trying to recall if it's the pulley that slips inside front seal or is it the crank, I mean which one is the one that seals against the front seal. It's a good amount of oil that it's leaking, so any help will be appreciated.

your pulley could be cracked...

It has a chip on the front side but I don't know about a crack. Do you mean a crack is making wobble or it's leaking through a crack in the pulley? I guess I can look for one when I pull it out. What's everybodies take on replacing the front seal???? It's new so...

Seal might have not seated properly.

I have had cars that the pulley was cracked near the fms and it was causing a leak.

Just a thought, would adding high temp gasket maker in the oil seal be a problem? I don't see why it would be bad if it's used for the the Oil pump cover.

There shouldn't be any need to add liquid gasket in there. Pull the crank damper out and look at it. Check the shaft that rides on the seal for any noticeable wear. Usually they'll wear over time and start leaking. You're seal could also have been installed incorrectly causing the leak.
