SR20DET tranny?

so i just bought my 240 a couple weeks ago, dude claimed it just needed a clutch.
i take it to the transmission shop today to have it looked at. mechanic informs me that the tranny is fried, and it needs to be rebuilt or swapped. :mad:

so does anyone know of any good shops in socal that sell SR20 transmissions?

or does anyone have a tranny that is in GOOD condition and will stand by that statement?

ya i know KA is the same. how much of a pain is it to swap the bell housing though? and if i used a KA tranny with the SR bell housing, would i still need a JDM cluster to get the speedo working?
