Hey I picked up a great deal on a 95' S14 se, it's an auto, but would be a awesome daily driver (Seattle area traffic lol) The car is loaded, has oem alarm, leather, the works and everything is factory!
Anyhow, I bought the car since the owner said the "timing chain needs replaced" , well simply put the top guide was still in there lol. I picked up the car, Engine bay looked crazy clean, there's evidence of the top front cover having been removed, looks to be a new distributor and water pump also.
What is happening is the car will pop and sputter, but no consistent running.
Once it pops or sputters then it will not pop again on that crank over cycle.
I did get it to fire and run for a few seconds, ran perfect for those seconds, but just as fast as it started it instantly stopped running, in it's tracks quick stop.
The fuel pump is working fine.
Tried a different 95 ecu, didn't seem to help.
It seemed that when I would try to fire it, it would pop, not try to pop anymore, then I would adjust the timing, then it would pop again.
I've been through the timing multiple times, I've assembled plenty of ka's so I'm confident the timing chains and distributor are right, but I could really use your ideas or if you've had similar problems!
I'm hoping to get a OBD port reader out here and do the self diagnostic on the ecu tomorrow.
Thanks in advance for all your help!
