its a ka24e in an 89 s13
just wanted to figure it out cause early 89's would make it have a 11.7:1 compression with a de head and if my engine was that one i would end up using it for a build

well its only gonna be an 89 or a 90
after 1990 the 240SX came with KA24DE (Dual Cams)

why does it matter?
the KA24E in 1989 is the same as the 1990.

trying to plan out my build
if its the earlier one that would make an 11.7:1 compression ratio then i would just end up using that and making an all motor engine instead of ka-t

Im not an expert on the KA but Ive never heard of the KAE having 11.7:1 CR

The single cams have 9.1:1 CR
The Dual Cams having 9.5:1 CR

ok guys here it is proof: KA24E / KA24DE Forum: Nissan Forums / Infiniti Forums - NICOclub (http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=40742)
its an 88 block that came in 89's
88 ka24e block + ka24de head will get around 11.7:1 compression

all sohc engines that fall on/after serial number ka24-012039 have the lower compression.

Did you read the thread you quoted?
