Does anyone have any tricks on getting the top starter bolt off a RB25? Motor is in a R32 and we're trying to do a clutch change, but the top starter bolt is no co-operating. We can get a ratchet+extension+socket on it, but barely any way of getting leverage from overhead. Can't get at it from underneath due to steering linkage and hard lines.

Drop the tranny mount, loosen the motor mounts and let it tip back. Then use a stubby wrench from underneath, it takes awhile but that's the easiest way I've found to do it.

ahhhh yes i remember those days....

If you have, use a 1/2in drive setup of exten, socket and U-Joints and use a breaker bar instead of a rachet (to help eliminate flex) and if you need to use a cheater bar.
