wait is your car automatic or manual?

if it's manual you need a manual ecu, if it's automatic you need an automatic ecu.

that's all that really matters, just make sure it comes from a zenki s14

its 5speed ... so you telling me no matter what as long as its a obd2 5speed ecu off a zenki it should work no problem ... i need this for smog purposes ... i live in cali ... does the CA make any difference, does it mean like i need a cali specific model cause i think theres federal models and cali spec models i believe atleast with my s13 i ran into that

For smog, you WILL need a 1996 5-speed ECU.

An auto ECU will throw a code without a TCU present...actually, it will throw several codes.

'95 ECU is not 100% OBD2 compliant, so it won;t work...and '97-98 ECU's are different as well. no way around it, you need a 1996 5-speed ECU.

so as long as it is 96 ecu 5speed it will work no matter the number?
