S14 sr20det problem

okay i swapped out my ka from my s14 because it threw a rod outta the block, so now i have the s14 kouki sr installed the wiring was sent off to swap-wiring.com to be done its back and now everything is plugged up, i turn the key and it starts and runs, i've even driven it...but it has a problem, if i do more than just touch the peddle the car will rev and then die. i have my ka24de maf hooked up because when i plug in the sr maf the car just dies, is the maf bad? or could there be other problems? any help would be great...seeing as how i've already bought another (NA) ecu thinking it was bad...although it wasnt i'm guessing bc the car is still doing the same thing, now i have another maf but the plug won't fit, did the idiot that did my wiring put the wrong plug in on?

No KA maf will work with the s14 SR. You either have to track down the OEM part numbered maf or up grade to a z32 with some form of correction (safc,powerfc,aem ems...)

SOHC KA maf will work but you have to repin the wires...

well if it runs crappy with the sr maf that you got with the swap but runs better with the ka one then it is obviously the maf (just making that clear)....but i would suggest getting a brand new maf for that specific engine (instead of going the cheap route and buying a used one off somebody) since you seem to still have problems with the ka maf.

go z32 and spring the money for a tune - you'll be happy with the power for a while

I did not think the kouki maf was the same as the single cam one. I was able to use the plug off a single cam maf on my zenki SR but I know the sensor itself does not work. Also the plugs are different between the zenki and kouki SRs so I don't get how you could even plug it into your harness.
