I'm new here so cut me a little slack :D Okay so I drive my 90 hatchback mostly everyday. So when I'm driving sometimes I'll be in second, shift up to 3rd and the car will just go limp. I'll pop it out into neutral and back into 3rd and at times it'll feel like it's starting to run but then it goes limp again. Btw this doesn't just happen in 3rd. I doubt it's the clutch because I just got it new literally a month ago. Before when I gave it gas it would sometimes jerk but it hasn't done it recently. Also the engine has a rough idle.
I've been noticing that my fan has been getting dirtier with like black smoke but it looks like dust on the fan. I checked the oil this morning and it's kinda low. Any ideas what could be up? Oh and when I went to my friend's shop they told me that I needed to replace something like a TPS? Throttle something something. It's like a little black square on the front left side of the motor. They said it needed to be replaced and adjusted. But they also told me that it wouldn't affect my car other than using a bit more gas. Help? :hide:

Don't know what your problem is, but I do know what TPS stands for: Throttle position sensor. I also don't know if that will fix your problem. :( Here's a link for a new one nonetheless. Good luck to ya.
