Hi guys
I'm installing an what I believe to be 1995 KA24DE into my 95' S14. I am coming from a CA18 so I had to buy the engine, harness and computer from someone. I haven't had my car running in a very long time so I'd appreciate anything that can help me out. I'll run through the things I've done bullet style for clarity.

Oh ya, $40 to whoever gives me the suggestion that makes this thing run. I'm getting a new engine w/ good compression regardless soon, so if that makes it run you're out of luck. But if it doesn't and it's something with my install then I'll still reward you. If you think I'm playing, your loss =/

Things I've checked for;
-I smell fuel
-I get spark when holding a plug (wired) next to the valve cover.
-Compression is 150-90-150-150
*So I already know this engine probably has a blown headgasket. I am trying to get another longblock soon, but I think I could still get this thing atleast running.
-ECU codes are
*25 - IACV
*41 - intake air temperature sensor
(are either of these necessary for startup? Car came with a cone filter so I would have to buy an airbox or the sensor.)

Things I've replaced;
-ECU, the one I got didn't have the fault code light so I figured it was modded and it was ghetto anyway.
-Plugs and wires

-What it does;
It cranks, and puts and bangs. I am not running a downpipe, just open manifold since I don't currently have a downpipe. Could this affect it?
-Nothing seems to happen when I modulate the throttle.

Here are a bunch of pictures I have taken, if you guys see anything out of the normal let me know. I know there are a few things unplugged, but I wouldn't think they prevent start up. By the way, are there only two grounds? I see the one by the O2 sensor and then the main battery ground attaching to the intake.

The Idle Air Temperature Sensor won't affect anything, the IACV on the other hand will.

Snap a few pics of how you have that hooked up. You may not have it completely hooked up.

From the looks of it, your MAF doesn't seem wired correctly, if you hold the throttle all the way down will it start up?

How's timing look?

can the IACV not being hooked up prevent startup? I will have to look at the FSM to see more about how mine is hooked up.

Also I haven't checked timing but I will.

Could bad fuel be the issue? I have had the same gas in the tank since probably october 2008.

thanks
