Ok, I'm about at the end of my rope, but I figured I'd try to ask for help one last time. Im putting an s14 sr into a 98 s14. I've gone back over my wiring and have since gotten the car to crank, the fuel pump will energize, and both relays click with the key on. I pulled a coilpack, put in a spark plug and checked for spark (yes I know I'm going to hurt myself, but as long as I've been screwing with this damn thing, I don't care) and I get no visible spark on crank......so, I'm assuming the coilpacks are not turning on. How do I make the coilpacks turn on? I think I've identified the ECCS relay and it has power and clicks, shouldn't that turn the ECU on? I'm just frustrated and any help would be really appreciated.

Do you get fuel?

Did you ground the coilpack harness?

Yes to both, I have fuel at the injectors and the coilpack harness is grounded. I verified the grounds with my multimeter. I'm really pretty sure the coilpacks aren't turning on and I don't know what causes that. Now the black/red wire from the ECCS relay is the power to the ECU correct? That wire should carry 12volt to the ECU? Thanks again for looking.

Did you ground the body of the spark plug when you checked for spark? When installed, the body of the spark plug is grounded by the contact between the threads and the block. You won't get a spark unless it's grounded.

make sure your cas is fully clipped in. I had a similar problem but i was getting spark and no injector pulse. Try unplugging the cas and plug it back in

When I tested for spark, I put a spare plug in the coil for #1 cylinder and held the threads against the head and there was no visible spark. As for the CAS, I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in with no change. I saw that the ECU will flash the check engine light if it is getting power, will it do that all the time or only if you have the wiring for the consult port wired up? I'm just still not convinced that the ECU is seeing power.

Sounds like you have a bad igniter, or your igniter is not plugged in.

Pull out the cas ( cam angle sensor ) , leave it plugged in with the key on, spin the gear on the cas, and you should hear your injectors clicking. If they are not it may be a problem with your power to the ECU. Typically the Black/Red wire is the Signal going from the key switch to the ECCS Relay. Which sends power thru the Black/White wires Pins 49, 59 if i recall correctly.. Make sure those are gettin 12v when you turn the key on.
