I was doing the s13 cam swap on my 96 ka24de and 3 cam cap bolts sheared. Any suggestions on removal? The two obvious options would be to take the head to a shop or try to use an easy out tool. Any other suggestions?

I broke a bolt off in my SR20DET's head. It snapped below the surface.
I took it to a local cylinder head shop and they removed it for me

weld a nut or another bolt to it, and then take it out

i really dont wanna know why you saw the need to exceed 8ft lbs of torque when putting those on, unless it was a previous thing.

i was at 5ft lbs i did them all in proper sequence. i just decided to use the factory bolts that i had taken off instead of buying new ones. so i now come to find that head bolts heat and expand. so heres a pic to give you an idea. i put a pen next to the hole for size reference. it snapped pretty clean. i have the right size extractor i jus wana know if theres an easier way to remove. or if anyone has input on the proper way to extract a small sized bolt.

Theres a fews ways..
1.You can actually use a screw driver and a hammer and tap it out while turning in the reverse direction.. i did it 3 on broken bolts in my old cylinder head..even though it was a honda head its still the same scenario
2. E Z outs or Reverse drill bits
3. Machine Shop
