I currently have a series 2 RB25 in my 240, I wanted to swap it out just for an RB26 short block, and mate my current head to that block. What has to be done to complete this. I heard a longer head bolt? Is this true??

eh?

Why?
You can pull the RB26 crank/rods/oil pump and stick it into the RB25 block . Use forged RB26 pistons and obviously machine work is required.
The RB26 has thicker head bolts and there will be no oil feed for the RB25 VTC. Then you'd need to modify either oil pan/ oil pick ups. Too much of a hassle.

yeah do the rb26 rod/piston upgrade. less complicated. at the same time you can fix the oil pump/crank shaft isssue.
