hey, this is going to sound retarded but im planning on buying a short ram intake for my s13 because i dont have the money to buy a turbo kit. im trying to squeeze as much power out of the ka as possible, but i had a bad experience with my old s14, when i put an intake on that one, i believe the check engine light came on, do these engines not like intakes? even with a maf sensor adaptor? are they always gonna act funny with an intake? please let me know because i dont wanna waste 200 bucks, and please no negative or smartass replies necessary, i come on these forums for help, if i wanted an argument, i'd go to work, thanks.

I am having the same problem after installing my intake on my s14 with the MAS and IAT connected, my check engine light stays on.

They shouldn't throw a code. If they do just reset it and it should stay away. My CAI doesn't throw any codes. As long as you hook up all vacume lines and the MAFS correctly you should be good to go

I would not waste your time with that.

I would run a cold air intake and then get some cheap headers and some high lift cams with moderate duration. Then I would get a re-programmable standalone and rent the dyno out for the day and get some race gas.

You can also mill the head down (it's KA who gives a hoot, I would) or add a thinner head gasket, in addition to the camshafts and run 100 octane on the bitch with 24 bdtc for base timing.

Try this out you will have a mean little 175-185 whp KA

For 200 bucks I would get a super think headgasket and run 24 bdtc for base timing and run some 100 octane gas.

You will pick up way more power like this and it can be done for less than 200 bucks
