i just installed a mid size fmic (2.5 inch pipe) and greddy intake manifold with q45 TB and seems to have lost some power.
also somewhere around 5lbs of boost, the car bucks and hesitates to keep accelerating. this happens at almost any rpm.
thanks for the help

make sure your spark plugs are gapped properly

does anyone know the torque specs for the rb25det intale manifold?
this would help because i took the car to a parts store and had a friend spray some Stuff(unknown) on the intake manifold where it bolts and it quieted a leak noise and made the motor rev up. i need to retorque the manifold i think.

is this a real greddy intake manifold or a knock off one? if its a knock-off one the flange surface is probly now flat, need to have it decked smooth.
also did u uses a new intake gasket? clean the matting surfaces properly? did u use RTV(liquid gasket)
either way u have a intake manifold leak, take off, clean, new gasket, reinstall download the fsm for torque specs

Sounds like an air leak somewhere...

yup you most likely have a leak. you should probably get a new manifold gasket. Let me know if you need one. I have a spare.

most likely he sprayed carb spray or something similar.
this is a very easy method of finding an intake leak.
sounds like the flange is not flat. you should remove it and check it with a good straightedge or have a machine shop check it.
then re-install it with a new gasket and possibly some rtv.

its a true greddy, straight from one of the dealers.
ill try some rtv as well this time, but where can i find a FSM for the skyline.
ive searched and it doesnt exactly seem as easy as it sounds.

i have noticed that if i ease into it slowly and let it spool up then punch it, it will go through the rpms smoothly. but if i were to drop the clutch or slam into the next gear and floor it, it just bogs until it slowly gets spooled.
I have a set of 660 denso injectors, but will that even be worth trying? what about an adjustable FPR? i need help haha

my car ran all sorts of rich and fucked up like it had a boost leak when i had stock injectors q45 tb, greddy manifold.
Make a boost leak tester out of a raft pump from walmart and blow it into your hose on the intake manifold tat goes to the brake master cylinder. Then stick/hold the throttle body open with vice grips and finally duct tape off your intake closed.
Then, start a small fire with paper and oil and have the smoke go into the pump inlet... if there is a leak you will see smoke shoot out of the flange. It would be best to do this when the engine is already warm.

After you test for boost leaks and find none, coat your coils packs in epoxy. You'll thank me later.

might not be the fix for the problem, but you do need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. im assuming you upgraded the fuel pump, so the fuel pressure would need to be set to spec.

Fuel pressure is set by the regulator. Changing the pump will not change the fuel pressure unless the stock regulator is too small to bypass the additional flow from the new pump. For instance, I installed a supra TT pump and the base pressure was still 43 psi off vacuum. FPRs are a $100+ part. So start from free, move to cheap, then onto fuel pressure regulator if nothing else works.

Change the gasket and retorque it.

If you still need it:
Tightening torque (N-m{kg-m})
& order
Bolt 18~22{1.8~2.2}
Nut 11~13{1.1~1.3}
Front --->
10 6 2 4 8 12
9 5 1 3 7 11 13
Also, distortion of the intake manifold has a limit value of .1mm

bump from the past!!! so if i use a new gasket i won't need to use rtv correct??
