Ok searched and found Lil info. iPhone kinda sucks at searching.

Will a #63 ecu be a direct replacement for a #62. I know I won't have speed limitier. I jus wanna know if I'll have to rewire anything?

it will work - but i suggest a daughterboard/tune since the computer is for an automatic

it'll probably feel a tad slower.

Yup... well depends on how much they are selling it to, cause its a different ecu for different car, so I think there are going to be some differences in wiring and tune.... why not get something that is made for the car lol..... Do guess, cause when problems come down the road, you dunno what to think...> trust me this is experience from modding a 240sx.... old ass POS

there are actually minor differences in the tune, but it will plug strait in. Get either a 62 or a e5

all the wrong info in here.

All of it?
Here is the pinouts, the only different one is the j4 which is the 97-98 blacktop.

The 62 and e5 are both manuals and the 63 and e6 are autos.

Instead of acting like your smarter than anyone and saying everyone is wrong, why dont you just post your information?

Look, it really makes you look dumb just saying someone is wrong without backing it up, especially when someone like me goes ahead and backs up their information which was correct in the first place.

yes it will work without any modifications. you will still have speed cut.

if you buy a black top ecu e5 j4 etc you are going to have to rewire your harness for it.

if you have a stock sr with the basic mods then you dont need to retune regardless of the mt or at ecu.

Now who is wrong? How could you even say that you will have to rewire to use a e5 after you seen the pinout diagram I posted up? My factory ecu was a 62 and Im now running an e5 with no modifications to the harness.

On my s13 redtop when i swapped a 63 ecu the engine ran fine but idled at 1500 rpm.

yep, thats because it was for an auto. That would be a non issue for me as I dont care for iacv's so I unplug them and block them off and adjust my idle by the throttly body but that is why its idling so high just so you know.

lok - ur not correct. e5/6 and 62/3 have th esame harness pinouts.

only the late model (kouki) 180's have j4/5 (those have i believe 7 wires out of place to plug into a eX or 6X harness.)

the maps on the ecu's however are different - the auto computers will have ht ecar idle weird, sluggish midrange, and poop up top.

the 62 has more agressive maps and higher revlimiter than a e5...

at high loads the e5 has at some points 5 degrees less timing than a 62... the 63 at some lower load parts of th emap has 13-15 deg less than a 62. The 63 also has 3-4 degrees less at high loads.

The e5 and e6 share similar timing maps at high loads - but the auto has way less timing ad moderate and low loads

people that still have a/c or ps step up - should not remove the iacv. otherwise your car will idle extremely low with the ac on.
