I can't seem find to an actual answer on this... I was going to go SR20, but decided to go KAT mainly because its cheaper. My friends are calling me a retard, its going to blow, and etc... I looked on the kat sticky, but couldn't find what i was looking for. My questions are as follows:
What is the max hp you can run on stock internals safely for daily driving? (i heard around 350, but i want a closer answer)
Is it reliable to do boost a KA that has about 200k miles on it?
thanks!

You obviously haven't searched THAT much if you don't know.
a KA with 200k miles probably isn't a great engine to turbo. Check compression and see what kind of numbers you get, but you'd probably at LEAST want a stock rebuild. Make sure you have a really good running engine before you think of a turbo.
It seems like most people daily KA-T's running around 7-10 psi on smaller turbos like T25's. I think tuning is really important, as well as cooling.
But search around. There's all kinds of different setups/ etc.

Reliable if done correctly. Cheap out and prepare to throw your motor in the dumpster.
Make an extensive list before you start. The common misconception is that going ka-t is cheaper. It can be, but you can spend a grip. Your best bet would possibly be to find someone's kit that they have already completed and are getting rid of.
FYI, on your hp question. I've got a buddy running 343whp on a stock motor for about a year with no issues.

Thanks a lot you guys. I think I found a rebuild kit for about 1000. I think I might go ahead and just do that. The only problem is, is that I REALLY don't want to pay someone to do it, so I just got to hope that someone here in town will help me rebuild it. lol

10 minutes to talk to the janitor that works at the machine shop.
