turbo for the win

Ok, I know this question has been asked 10000x but I really don't have time to search right now, and this is a fairly quick question anyways:

I have a 93 240 coupe right now on the stock KA. It has 212,xxx miles on it and its pretty much on its last legs. I am looking to turbo this KA and make about 325whp daily driven.

I know about all the turbo accessories ie: turbo, injectors, fuel management, exhaust mani, all of this I know what I'm talking about. I have had 2 240's and both of them had SR's. Coming from that backround i'm done with SR's and am ready to try the whole KA-T thing.
My question is what internals would you guys recommend with my power goals in mind. Aside from external turbo accessories what will i need to make my setup reliable. I know forged rods, pistons etc... i'm just looking for what makers you guys recommend for everything.

Keep in mind, i am a college student and don't have a ton of money to spend, but I know its pretty easy to make around 300whp fairly cheap, and the setup still be reliable.

And i promise, i really am not completely incompetent, I just don't have a lot of time on my hands to research and would really appreciate ya'lls
input.
Thanks again.

Can you give us any clues as to the setup that you would like to run? (turbo size stuff like that)

The stock block can take 300whp. However, with your motor I would do a rebuild.

These are the parts I would look into:

Good pistons(wiseco, cp ect) in a 8.5-9.0:1 Comp ratio.
APR studs
stock HG/felpro gasket set
new oil and water pumps
bearing of your choice.
and then a basic head rebuild.

If your on a budget and don't want to spend lots of money, your do not "need" to put rods in it.

turbo wise i'm lookin at the Holset HX35W, that way if i end up wanting more power no need for an upgraded turbo.
Injectors, i was thinkin, 740's
already have a spearco FMIC, and N1 exhaust

Seriously I would just penny up for the ams rebuild package, it's a pretty good deal considering how much the items would cost separately...

However phase2motortrend offers a piston coating service for their replacement KA24DE pistons... I dunno how much that would help but I would probably pony up for those.

i would rebuild if the motor is gonna be going out soon! a kit would be the best option for ya. im gonna be replacing seals in mine soon and see how far i can push the stock internal safely with a t3/t04e and a good tune as a daily

Nobody on here should be wasting a penny on AMS.

Well it's just that they completely abandoned the KA-T community and left everyone hanging for over 6 months on a turbo manifold group buy. They didn't respond or follow up with anyone and just recently delivered the products. The great part is that they lowered the price the other day for the manifold that the guys waited an extremely long time on. Pretty much shit on the KA-T community as a whole. Lol its a pretty sensitive subject with most.
