I hear that if you upgrade a Rb20/25 with a N1 oil pump then it sends too much oil to the head thus leading to shortage of oil in the crankcase.
Then I hear that if you use a normal GTR oil pump then it also does the same.
so my question is this . Which statement is true ? or are both true ?
can you use a GTR oil pump on a RB20/25 and just change the collar to a JUN collar with no problems ?

The oil starvation problem will occur even with stock pumps. To illumanate that, you need an oil restrictor presss in the head. It cost around $5 from tomei.
The Jun collar will help with previous RB26 crank because it has a bigger contact area between the pump and the crank drive. Best suggestion is to get Tomei/Nismo/JUN pump with Jun collar. If you are in a lower budget, use the N1 oil pump. Stock GTR pump is crap.
I'm a bit on the fence regarding the whole oil issue with the RB20/25. The RB20/25's need more oil in the head vs the RB26 due to the hydraulic lifters. I really wouldn't install oil restrictors in the head unless I knew how it would affect the head. And so far I really haven't heard anything positive with the RB20/25 restrictors only good things with the RB26. Also heard of quite a few N1 pumps breaking even with the collar upgrades.
If it really came down to it with the RB20/25, I'd add a small drain line at the back of the head, crank collar and a larger capacity oil pan. Get a nismo, grex, tomei oil pump if going after crazy RPM.

^ Thats a good point. I have to agree about the restrictor.
But for the oil pump, my friend and I run the N1 pump in our RB and there is not a single problem. Unless you race alot or bounce off the limiter alot, N1 is good enough.

hmm , sweet guys thanx for the input . i mean alot would be even better but now things are a little more clear .
im in the midst of building my rb20 and so is my friend with rb25 and we are really undecided on what to do about our oil pumps .
whats the best thing to do for a person on a tight budget but wants good reliable oil pump
What type of driving are you planning on doing?

mostly daily driving. maybe i'll hit the track or do a little bit of drifting, nothing h-core .
I've had no problems with a 100% stock oil system on my RB for 6 years. I mostly did daily driving with quite a bit of high RPM highway runs, nothing too crazy. I rev to 7500 rpm no problem. Really unless your going to get the whole motor built just stick to the stock oil system if it's gonna be a DD with a little of track. If you get serious about drifting or whatever then take the time to get your motor built and your oil system upgraded.

well thing is , i WILL be racing alot of people on the street , mainly exotics hehe
is there anything you can do to make the stock oil pump just a little bit stronger ? ( ie jun collar ) i dont have the funds to buy a $2000 oil pump
i really appreciate the input guys , if there is more then it will be again greatly appreciated
Do the crank collar mod and keep your RPM reasonable.
