I am having detination at anything a little over stock boost. When I run half 91 and half 100 octane i don't seem to have this problem. I also have a jwt ecu, and i belived the timing is set at 15degrees btdc, i am not sure why this is happening.
how do i cure it without running 100 all the time.. my wallet is empty

Im assuming the car is relatively stock since your saying only above stock boost. The only thing that raised a red flag for me was you have a JWT tuned ecu, what other mods do you have?

In the meantime you could check...

Plugs clean and gapped?
What do your A/F ratios look like?
How is your fuel pressure? Any leaks / problems with injectors?

Check your timing.

Are you sure it's detonation? Is it very metal sounding? Like a metal ball in a spray paint can?

If it goes away with higher octain I would say it is detenation.

I blame the jwt ecu. I used to use one in the past and lost an engine due to detenation.

Its just impossible to make a tune and sell it to people and have it work right 100% of the time. Each car needs tuned for its own setup.

Tuning the car myself was the only thing that got rid of my detenation.

You can retard your base timing some but to me that is just a bandaid. Do do that however until you are ready for a REAL solution. It may save your engine.

With the other mods, I have new iridium 1 step colder plugs, new injectors, new used n62 maf, I need to solder in a consult cable to my ecu harness and get some kind of consult program to log my current running conditions, and the supposed to send it to Jwt for them to do a final tune.
I would love a power fc, but can't afford it right now, and would like a nistune, but need a base map set up for what I have so its plug and play.

For now I am going to put in the consult port to my ecu.

Hook up a laptop if I can find one cheap,
