Is dorifto-ing on the streets and at WSIR just not cutting it for you?

I have an idea, and depending who signs on, could be potentially awesome. I already have people in mind, but location is the biggest factor.

We build the Zilvia Rally 240sx.

Compete in the local Rally events.

If there is enough interest I will put something of a build/driver team together.

What "we" would need potentially to make this happen:

Basically anyone who gives to the cause would be forever immortalized via sticker and vinyl which would be bestowed upon the car when it is ready for the dirt.

Ideas, people, everything is welcome.

This site needs livening up. What could be better than smashing the shit out of a 240 in the dirt to wane away your fears of a collapsing economy?

Good idea and would be pretty badass to see happen, but it'll definatly need alot of community support. Could Zilvia pull it off? We'll see.

I know theres a guy in northern Ontario or quebec that rally's his S13 competitevly. Maybe I can see what kind of suspension setup hes running.

Suspension could be the real killer here, I am not too up to speed on what exactly a rally car would need in the ways of such.

by the way if you gonna run dirt, you might want to put really good and powerful shocks, with a good travel. there will be a lot of cutting and welding to do.

yeah i rallied my first s13 at Tombstone Rally in Temecula. Was completely stock and auto with a slight exhaust leak that started at 3krpm so everyone thought i was SR this shit was back in 03. My second time around was in my s14 with welded diff, lowering springs and kybgr2's with steering angle kit, and some links and swaybars. That shit was hilarious it was at the Del Mar Fair practice track. I had alot of fun that time but i was there mostly for a $35 drift session.

The only problem with that would be it would cost more money.

Just building a rally car out of a 240 could potentially be dirt cheap.

Also modify 4x4 ride height onto that photochop, I just couldn't figure out how to do it haha.

Why not run stock springs on kyb struts ?... it would stiffen it up, but wouldnt drop it at all, as for the wheels... 15x9 diamond racings would run 300ish and your going to need to find some nobby tires(i guess going to a junkyard and finding some 225/65's would work)... hack shit up so it doesnt rub anywhere and let it rip...

diamond plate mudflaps? also sway bars would be nice

If understeer is the problem then get a S13 super HICAS. you can find them dirt cheep and I've taken mine off road (thats how i bent a tie rod ^_^) and you can just throw it into a turn and have her almost spun out and she'll plop that ass right back.

Well I have a decent amount of space to store, work, etc... on the car. However, I am kind of off the beaten path even though I am in So-Cal. So if anyone else has the space and is a little more central to more prominent members and the team that's cool too. There is no room for greed and being a dumb asshole in this project. It's a community building experience not a gay who's who affair. That has been my main concern this whole time. That's why donators are pretty much sponsors and are more than welcome to come work on the car and such.

If Zilvia really wants to do this I will get a "team" together and open a paypal account and ask for like $1-3 donations to get all the ancilliary stuff. Everyone who donates anything would have a space on the car. The people who donate large things obviously get more space. Basically it would be a big community wall, that drives haha.

That's just how I see it at this point.

If it doesn't work out, oh well. Or if someone has a better idea I am all ears.
