a friend of mine is selling me a completely rebuilt stock sr with a .040 over bore. he hasnt run the car yet and it has 0 miles. what i was wondering was, with a 4 core koyo radiator, plus a single 15" electric fan, and a 4x12 oil cooler. would this thing overheat, considering the radiator isnt clogged, water pump is top shape, and the entire cooling system is working up to par.

i will be doing some freeway driving and i will be sitting in 80-90 degree traffic. this car will mainly be a street driver, and im not going to be pounding it all over the pavement

Why would it overheat?

I think you would be fine with just a Stock SR radiator if its just bored over and stock everywhere else.

But regardless, yes you'll be fine.

im not sure about the whole concept on how it generates more heat, but i know it generates more heat, possibly bc its closer to water jackets or something.

from working on chevy's for a long time i noticed that when u bore out an engine past .020 over the engine runs noticably hotter. my 502 was running consistantly at 180. after doing a .030 over bore it now runs at 190-200 without changing any of the cooling system.

i just rather be safer than sorry, there is approx 5gs in the engine with parts and labor, and i would hate to ruin it after a day

If you can't keep an engine cool with a 4 Row Radiator and an Oil Cooler than I would be blown away.

SR's run cool in general. Track conditions with performance coolant parts like radiator, cap, thermo and new waterpump, I never see over 90 F*

what would be a unsafe temp for the motor 210?

You mean 90* Celsius.

what would be a unsafe temp for the motor 210?

I would say 200 to be on the safe side.

i was thinking 90* F was a little on the cool side. haha

it has a cometic metal head gasket so im sure 200 would be fine. what do these things usually run at? and what degree thermo is stock with this thing?

my friend is going to be giving me a 60*C thermo with the car tho
