MSD on SR?

Just started swappin my SR in and im trying to clean up the engine bay. I just took out the SOHC which had a MSD ignition & coil on it....and the question is can that be re used on a SR? I keep getting diff answers from friends & i cant seem to find the answer searching. first engine swap so im tryin to get it all right

if you have a sr20de then you can since it has a distributor.

if its an sr20det then no and whats the point if you have COP system anyways?

thanks. i thought the COP would eliminate the need for it, but i wanted to make sure before i sold the MSD setup.
