Alright my car has been acting real weird as of late. Couple rough starts where it seems like it wants to die but doensn't Then about a week later does the same while driving near like 2k rpm kinda bog back and forth b/w like2k and 2400 maybe. For a while it was only while driving, until yesterday it did it at idle. So I took some TB/intake cleaner and pull the hose of my intake leading to the IACV and sprayed about half a can...the rode out that night with no symptoms. To be on safe side sprayed other half in the can today.

Well tonight it's extremely cold, and seemed like the cars idle change similar in the way the stock e fan cuts on after u sit for a while..however I don't think the fan was even on at the time.

So now I'm gonna replace cheap crap to try and narrow problem down like cap and rotor for distributor, and maybe the coolant temp sensor.

Read one post saying theres 2...one for gauge and one for ecu...my guess is the ecu is the one that affects engine operation and performance...or should I do both. Also do you have to drain coolant? It's located where the rad hose runs to right..just screw old out and screw new in?

Thanks for any help. Btw since the engine issues I've used gumout regane fuel cleaner, checked and cleaned top of spark plugs, and changed fuel filter (filter before the problems). Wires are fine, and also sprayed TB/intake cleaner i nthe IACV like I said.

Oh yeah only thing I knwo for sure is messed up on my car is valve cover gasket, and I'm guessing the spark plug gasket is about the same. Noticed a lil oil one spark plug pass the washer around it. The wires don't have any oil on em, so I guess I'm still safe but I'm wondering if the valvecover gasket leaking is affecting or will affect drivability

I never thought of that in our PMs. Oil leaking on to the plugs would kill driveability. Dead. Basically you're fouling the plugs out from the top, eliminating the spark signal to them.

CTS is the the 2pin sensor on the neck, you'll loose a little coolant but not much.

The center electrode was still white..the part in the middle of the plug that comes white. I'll see what happens when I change the VC gasket...shop I went to replaced my front seal recently cause it was leaking worse than the VC gasket, and the put die in the oil to see if any leaks elsewhere. I gotta check back with em next week to see where the die shows up.

Yeah still gonna do the cap and rotor cause they're so cheap..and I guess the cooltant temp sensor to be on safe side..none of these have probably ever been replaced.

Hey projectrdm to make sure i'm spraying the tb cleaner in the right hose to clean the IACV..I sprayed into the hose leading from my intake that goes to a metal pipe underneath my intake. The other 2 hoses go to valve cover and a short one leads of the intake. I have an injen so all of them are connected to that plastic t.

Thanks for all the helps with the pms..hopefully I'll soon have my car in tip top shape lol
