ka24e sounds like a wrx, injectors? coil?

hey guys my ka24e sounds like a wrx when running and driving. ive had this problem before and every time i think i fix it, it comes back. i thought it was a exhaust leak but fixed that and it wasnt it. i was thinking that its either my injectors or my coil. i put lucas fuel injector cleaner in my tank along with 87 octane fuel. that fixed it for about 1 week but now its back. if you guys can think of anything or have ran into this before pelase help. lol. the car was running fine till this morning when i parked my car at my work. i turned my car off and it shut off really ruff. lots of motor shake and then just turned off. i left for lunch and as soon as i started it, it started sound like a wrx again. so idk what the problem is.

I used to have this problem a while back. CHECK YOUR OIL! :)
Knowing it's a KA, it PROBABLY has an oil leak somewhere. Mine drained it to the point below the L on the dipstick.

Same thing happened to mine i did the same i put a shit load of that Lucas ingector cleaner. havent had a prob since. if that dont work check your wirring going to the coil.


Does it run good like that at all times or just when u floor it?

dude dave!? its ivan with the coupe in sb, lol my car did the same thing twice. first time it was the spark wires then it was the maf. hit me up if you need my maff to test it

Check spark, compression and fuel. Is there any smoke pouring out? Most the time they sound like that when a cyl firing properly

your running on 3 cylinders... ive been there before, turned out it was a bad fuel injector.... Try unplugging a fuel injector and see if it makes a difference.. keep doing it til you unplug one that doesnt make a difference.

:mephfawk: ok guys so i went and got some food,and on the way to get food it was sounding like a wrx. but on the way back i was flooring it to see if at higher rpms it sound normal,well at about 4500 rpms it stoped and sounded normal, then once it got to 5000rpms it came back. so i tried agian and it some how fixed it. so i guess my problem is good now, but it maycome back, so tommow im gonna put a differnt coil on (msd blaster 3) cuse mine is SUPER corroed. and pull plugs and check it.

i havent checked my oil yet,but i dont have a leak any were.

sounds like a bad injector. very common on ka.

Same thing with me but i have a sr downpipe 3 in test and 3in N1...but at idle my engine slightly twitches... jus injector cleaner down the gas tank???
and plugs and coils??

sounds like a misfire. i had my 2jz sound like a wrx when it ran on 4 cylinders. check spark and injectors.

check the plugs if you haven't already, and drain your coolant and replace it, you may not notice a bad headgasket by just draining your oil.

well i replaced my coil a couple of days ago. and once i replaced it and got my car runing the idle was fixed, and didnt sound like a w anymore also havent had the probley come back yet. however i still want to change my injectors. well hope this helps all you other people.
