I would spend your money on something more worth it. yes ka sr ca gearboxes are very similar and you can swap bellhousings on all but the 6 speed is a completely different transmission. its all kind of confusing though. though I don't know the answer for sure because I go off what other people say. I do know the 6 speed is weak and the gearing isn't really worth the swap.
but im curious. why????

No. Completely different housings.

No. Completely different housings.
You can do it if you cut the KA housing and enlarge where needed.
Then you would be better off using an S15 housing.

best way to find out is to try... when you get ready to do it, you either A see it and be like dang it will work... or B fuck neva gonna happen.
or C, not gonna work but fuck it grab a sawzall... and duct tape and make it happen. lol :snoop::2f2f:

Try it. See if it works. Let us know. I've been pondering this myself. My tranny needs a rebuild, why not stuff an extra gear in it?
And yes, when enough money is saved, I will REBUILD the trans. Why swap in someone elses junk in and have something slightly better then the junk you just swapped out?

Because you can pick up a KA transmission for dirt ass cheap and run that into the ground while spending the same amount of money you did to buy that ka transmission to have the spare one you now have to rebuild it. Then sell the tranny on your car after swapping your fresh one back on the car.
This will leave you with the least downtime...
However a 6 speed Z32 transmission can fit the KA motor, Xcessive makes the adapter kit and shifter relocation kit for it but that shit is BALLER! :ugh:
But I believe it will provide some nicer gearing for acceleration purposes. However the S15 transmission is a flaming piece of shit from what I've read, most people will swap that out for an s14 transmission. Again based on what I've read on the boards over the years.
Things may be different now. :naughty:
Good luck with whatever you try to do.
EDIT: OK, wrote something here but answered my own question so nevermind
ANyways, Nismo has a 6 speed for s13,s14 if you really want it.

No such thing. Only the Z33 uses a 6speed gearbox.

For as much work you'll do and spend on a 6 speed SR tranny, you're better off going with a Z32 tranny (last tranny you'll ever need).
