i am going to be doing a swap into my 92 240 hatch currently an auto KA24DE..........Now heres the question all my friends do the sr swap to tell you the truth im tired of working putting in taking out and timming the fuckin engine for my friends. I want to change it up a bit i have been looking at the ca18det's and to me they seem very practicle but you can have fun with them. All im looking for is a turbo engine i dont need nothing fancy but i for sure want to do a swap. AND I WILL NOT BUILD UP THE KA24DE to me a waste of time. So i want to know if the ca is worth the money i know they are more scarce for performance parts but i dont kare cuz all i want is a turbo on a engine. Is the ca worth droping into my very clean nice ass 92 240 hatch thanx guys appretiate the help:2f2f:

Well, you can CAs for cheaper and theyre better engine setup than an SR stock for stock. The problem is the lack of aftermarket parts for it. Stock parts arent exactly impossible to find for it, we have stock CA18DEs off the older 200sx and alot of parts off it are useable. If you're not planning on trying to make anything more than 350hp, CA will be good enough.

yeah deffnetly not trying to make more than 350hp. and as for the after market parts not really conccerned about that cuz im not gonna hop the car up, just use it as a daily driver and to have a turbo hehe. BUT.....as for droping in the car how much work am i looking at is it a direct bolt in? is the trans off the CA the same as a manual KA trans, also??? fmic, is this a good idea for the CA..plus a fmic is not really that exspensive. The drive shaft since im an auto right now! will i have to get a drive shaft. and if i have to will the stock KA drive shaft work with the CA trans. And last but not least how reliable is the CA i know alot of people dont do them and im not sure why there has to be a flaw becides the lack of hp. And also what about the RB20 does that moter allready come turbo if so would that be a better choice than the CA and SR thanx for you help

Same as an SR, you'll need a manual driveshaft and the transmission, or at least the CA bellhousing to bolt to a KA transmission. Wiring is virtually the same.
Search. This has been covered for longer than the internet has existed, don't assume no one has ever discussed this.

well what about the rb20 is that also a dirrect bolt in, cuz ive been told you need to make custom moter mounts and also is this a good motor for the buck??

My friend has both a CA swapped 240 and a SR swapped 240.
He likes the SR slightly more, but for the price he'd go for the CA.
I like his CA swapped hatch enough that I too want to go with a CA.

SR > CA + Rb20

SR > CA + Rb20
you either didn't read the facts i just posted... or you are retarded.
CA is better in engine design and overall performance.
SR is better in aftermarket availability and displacement. Also cheaper to make from Nissan.
Done. Unless you have some facts to back up your opinion.

Now heres the question all my friends do the sr swap to tell you the truth im tired of working putting in taking out and timming the fuckin engine for my friends.
What does "timming" mean?
All im looking for is a turbo engine i dont need nothing fancy but i for sure want to do a swap.
What do you consider to be "fancy"? Would a swap be "fancy"?
AND I WILL NOT BUILD UP THE KA24DE to me a waste of time.
Would building a stock motor be less "fancy" than swapping in a motor?
So i want to know if the ca is worth the money i know they are more scarce for performance parts but i dont kare cuz all i want is a turbo on a engine.
If all you "kare" about is a turbo, would it be cheaper and less work to just get a KA turbo kit?
Is the ca worth droping into my very clean nice ass 92 240 hatch
At this point I really don't know what you want so I can't say if a CA is worth it or not.
What do you value? How much money/skill/time do you have? What do you want your car to do?
V8 or bust :rl:
