My KA24E sounded like one but thats a whole different ball game... Oddly enough I just needed to add oil... Sounds REALLY dumb but check your oil.

Check fuel injector clips and spark

Isolate the dead cylinder by pulling Coil packs one by one

When unplugging the coil if no change occurs then thats your problem cylinder

If you find the problem coil, swap it in to another cylinder if it follows then that coil pack is bad

the only time mine sounded like that, My turbo to manifold was loose. I replaced the gasket and tightened it up and BAM.

My girlfriends R32 had this problem a couple of times. Turned out to be 2 separate coilpacks had bunked out on her.

Once you checked all that and if you have no progress try swapping the ECU or check the signal to that injector. I assume you already swapped the plugs.

120??!! Normal is 150ish

Your compression is Wayyyy low minimum is like 129psi

did you pull all the plugs and crank the engine WOT until the needle stops rising??

If you did
drop a little bit of oil in the cylinders if compression improves then your Rings are bad

yes i check the plugs and they are burning nice no liquid on the plugs(meaning gas or oil)
i also swapped ecu and disconnect the battery and nothing. same thing

so if i understand this correctly. After you swapped out the coilpack for your friends car(which was runing fine) and put it back, his car has the same problem and sounds like a wrx now. So both your cars have the same problem. You should double check the connector for the coilpack. Maybe when you pulled out the connector for your car or your friends, you messed up the connector. I had the same problem when i was working on a limo. The connector got power but it was'nt grounded correctly so everytime i put a new coilpack in, it shorted out and fried the coilpack. So i would double check the connector to make sure its not shorted out. This could be the reason your friends car is not running right either if you fried his coilpack. Im pretty sure once you find the short your problems will be gone. My bet is the connector that plugs into the coilpack, just replace it. Good luck.

Good luck. i swapped ignitor not coilpacks. tomorrow i going to change the spark plugs and see if it change anything. the connection are good on all three wire on each coil. thanks to all on the postive feedback any more will be great

i found the problem the one wire that was extended came loose going into the ignitor. i check the the coil for power and i thought i did but there are 3 black wire on #1 cyl. so i soildered it and it is fix now:2f2f::2f2f:. thanks to all for info
